Matje is a Slovak visual artist, animator, and educator with a deep passion for storytelling through movement and form. His work spans 2D and 3D animation, character rigging, sculpting, and game design. Drawing from both traditional and digital techniques, he creates whimsical and emotionally grounded characters that often inhabit playful or surreal worlds.
Inspired by the works of Tove Jansson, the magical visual language of "The Secret of Kells," and the warmth of Ghibli films like "Kiki’s Delivery Service," Matej’s creative universe blends childhood wonder with thoughtful craftsmanship. He is the creator behind Oživlá, a project that merges street art with augmented reality to bring the spirit of the city to life.
In addition to his personal projects, Matje teaches animation and digital art at a high school level, helping young creators find their own voice. Whether working in Blender, Unity, or traditional media, he is always exploring new ways to bridge storytelling, interactivity, and expressive design.
